Emily's account of the same event.

For those of you who have read Kris' blog "I fought the law" here is my story.

We were driving home from my parents house and had just started driving again after stopping at a red light. All of a sudden Kris says "I wasn't speeding. No way, I wasn't speeding was I? Emily, was I speeding?" I had no idea whether or not if he was speeding, I wasn't paying attention to whether he was breaking the law. He then starts pulling over to the side of the street and I then realize that he is being pulled over (a little slow on the take, I know. That is what happens when one is self-absorbed.) I start laughing a little.

Emily: "HA, HA, HA. It is about time you get a ticket."

Kris: "But I wasn't speeding."

Emily: "I don't care, this is too good. Now you can't say anything else to me about all my tickets. What goes around comes around, lawbreaker!"

Nicholas and Lexi: "Are they going to take you to jail?"

Police Man: "Licence and Registration"

Kris then goes into this lame story about not speeding and about the car in front of us who also pulled over. The cop leaves, so does the car in front of us, and we are left in the car.

Kris: "I swear I wasn't speeding. That is why that car in front of us pulled over also, they knew that they were speeding."

Emily: "It doesn't matter, you are getting a ticket." HA HA HA

During all this time I am thinking "If he gets out of this I am going to be so mad. If this was me, there would be no way that I would get out of this. I always have a good story. I always have some logical reason. I never get out of my tickets. NEVER."

Lexi and Nicholas are still concerned that the policeman is going to take Kris away and Kris says no because he isn't a lawbreaker.

The cop comes back and says "good news and bad news" Singing in my head to the tune of of the childish teasing song..."Yes, Kris is getting a tick -et. Kris is getting a tick-et. Kris is getting a tick-et."

Policeman: "I am not going to give you a ticket for speeding but your license is expired."

Emily's thoughts "No way, he talked his way of the ticket. I can't believe it, but he will definitely get one for having an expired licence. I have NEVER gotten a ticket for an expired license. I would NEVER drive with an expired license.....well, I have driven a car with an expired registration but that is totally different. A license is different. I would certainly know if my licenses is expired. There is no way he is getting out of this. NO WAY!"

The cop is then asking me if I have my license to see if my was expired also. I honestly have no idea but I don't have my purse with me. I start wondering if my licenses is expired...... no, it can't be, I would know.

I am anxiously waiting for the police officer to give the ticket to Kris........ WHAT! no wait a second. WHAT! He is letting him go, no ticket, no points on his record but, he was breaking the law! Life is so unfair. If it had been me, I would have gotten the ticket for the expired license and for speeding (I wasn't speeding when I received those 2 tickets either, I swear!)

He has faith in the law again while my assumptions of being the target of a conspiracy have just been confirmed.

It's always good to hear both sides of the story!! I tend to believe yours - if he wasn't speeding then he certainly deserved to be caught many other times. He just has good luck I guess!
